UFC 299: Sean O'Malley Fans React to Dominant Win Over Chito Vera
Now that UFC 299 has concluded, fans have reacted to the result of Sean O'Malley vs. Marlon "Chito" Vera.
This was the first time "Sugar" was defending the UFC Bantamweight Championship. There was bad blood going into this one, as the lone defeat in O'Malley's pro MMA career had been at the hands of Vera back in 2020.
There was a lot of kicking in the first round, with both men going for the leg and body. O'Malley scored a straight left hand, and later on "Chito" had a left punch of his own. O'Malley went to the body with punches and appeared to get the better of the challenger in round one.
O'Malley was masterful throughout the bout, but "Chito" had his moments where he made it a dog fight. Ultimately, it was clear that the champion had the edge in offense. Vera struggled to find him all night.
