Michigan Star Corum Uses NIL Money To Feed Local Families

For the third straight year, Wolverine running back hands out free turkeys to help Ann Arbor families in need

Michigan running back Blake Corum continued his pre-Thanksgiving tradition - for the third straight year - to use a portion of his NIL money to help feed families in the Ann Arbor area.

Local media followed Corum on Sunday as he delivered 600 turkeys to local families in towns around Ann Arbor such as Ypsilanti, which is the home of Eastern Michigan University.

As Corum’s NIL influence has grown, so has his power to give back to the area. In the first year of what he calls “Give Back 2 Give Thanks,” he was able to distribute 200 turkeys. Last year it was 300 turkeys.

Now, as the Wolverines prepare to play their arch-rival, Ohio State, next Saturday, Corum worked the streets to deliver even more food to those who need it.

Corum told local media that he intends to keep the tradition going even after he leaves Michigan, which many believe will be after this season when he declares for the NFL Draft.

Corum is one of the best running backs in country and has been at the forefront of NIL since 2021. This season he’s rushed for 888 yards and leads the nation with 20 rushing touchdowns.

He scored twice for Michigan on Saturday against Maryland, a 31-24 win, which was the program’s 1,000th win of all-time, making the Wolverines the first Division I school to accomplish the feat.

Corum has at least two rushing touchdowns in four of his last five games.

As for Corum’s NIL portfolio, his most recent deal is with Peloton, which was announced last week. He also announced a deal with the Detroit Garage in October.

He has also cultivated partnerships with a diverse group of businesses both nationally and in the Michigan area, as he has deals with local companies as Burt Watson Auto Group. He also has deals with national-recognized brands like Outback Steakhouse, 7-Eleven, Wolverines Boots and Subway.

Corum and Michigan host No. 2 Ohio State at noon ET on FOX.
