Donovan Mitchell's Injury Status For Celtics-Cavs Game

Donovan Mitchell has been ruled out for Tuesday's game.

On Tuesday evening, the Cleveland Cavaliers will host the Boston Celtics in Ohio.  

For the game, the Cavs will be without their best player, as All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell has been ruled out.   

Mitchell has missed each of the previous two games, and the Cavs announced an update on Monday.  

Via The Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday: "Donovan Mitchell received a Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injection today at the Cleveland Clinic Sports Medicine center to treat a left knee bone bruise that sidelined him for the Cavaliers previous two games. Mitchell will be listed as OUT for the next three games (March 5 vs. Boston, March 6 at Atlanta, and March 8 vs. Minnesota). His status will be re-evaluated over the weekend and updated as appropriate." 

Mitchell is averaging 28.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 1.8 assists per contest while shooting 47.2% from the field and 37.1% from the three-point range in 47 games. 

The Cavs are the third seed in the Eastern Conference with a 39-21 record in 60 games.  

They are 5-5 over their last ten games and most recently lost to the New York Knicks (at home) by a score of 107-98. 

Following the Celtics, the Cavs will travel to Georgia for a matchup with Dejounte Murray and the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday evening at State Farm Arena. 

As for the Celtics, they are the first seed in the Eastern Conference with a 48-12 record in 60 games. 

They are in the middle of an 11-game winning streak.
