Bull Riding Rookie Brady Turgeon Makes History at PRCA Bull Riding at Tuacahn

A new standard has been set by a PRCA rookie in bull riding as Brady Turgeon set an arena record at PRCA Bullriding at Tuacahn. The rodeo in Ivins, Utah is part of the Rank 45 Xtreme Bulls Series and Turgeon is now working his way up the ranks after the win and a check of over $16,000.
New Arena Record Set in Utah
The cowboy out of New River, Arizona, is just 22 years old and made history in more ways than one on Saturday, March 28th. Turgeon came blazing into the arena on the back of Andrews Rodeo's All Likkered Up, scoring a massive 93-point ride, the biggest of the Resistol Rookie’s career. This score not only won him the rodeo, but he set a new arena record.
Riding this bull is no easy feat. Earlier in the season, All Likkered Up was matched with some of rodeo’s best cowboys (Cooper James and Trevor Reiste) bucking them both off at RodeoHouston and the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. A ride like this truly makes a statement for Turgeon as he sits at No. 37 in the world standings.
Turgeon has been at the top of his game so far this season, scoring a 90-point ride at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Xtreme Bulls, but he hadn’t seen a check this large until now. While he wasn’t up against any former world champions in Utah, he will be one to watch heading into the summer months.
A Score Unmatched
It’s rare to see a score this high, especially this early in the season. A 93-point ride doesn’t come easy and Turgeon proved he has what it takes to hang with the best of the best. For reference, not one cowboy pulled in 93 points at the National Finals Rodeo last year.
The closest a cowboy came at the NFR was TJ Gray who scored 90.75 points on Doze You Down from Rafter G Rodeo. Gray was also up against Turgeon in Utah, but didn’t manage to score nearly as high as a 93. This just goes to show how truly impressive the feat is, for any cowboy, let alone a rookie.
Hopefully, the cowboy now has enough momentum to carry him through some of the biggest rodeos ahead. Rodeo On SI will keep a close watch on the rookie cowboy as he works to secure his first NFR qualification and the Resistol Rookie of the Year title.
