There is a reason why fans call it #Pac12AfterDark. Once the sun sets on the west coast and the calendar changes on the east coast, college football just gets weird. Look no further than the USC Trojans' triple-overtime win over the Arizona Wildcats on Saturday night (or Sunday morning for us East Coasters).

Reigning Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams led the Trojans to victory with one passing touchdown and three rushing touchdowns. Not only does Williams continue to separate himself from the nation's other top quarterbacks, but he is dominating from a footwear perspective.

Before every home game, USC players enter the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum like a professional team. Instead of matching hoodies and sweatpants, players are given the freedom to make whatever fashion statement they choose. Thanks to the Trojans' social media team, we got a great look at Williams' pregame outfit.

Roughly four seconds into the video above, Williams strolls past the camera in a pair of psychedelic adidas sneakers that are reminiscent of a bygone era in the San Fernando Valley. Below is everything sneakerheads must know about the trippy footwear.

A detailed look at adidas Gazelle sneakers.

Before Saturday's game, Williams wore the Sean Wortherspoon x adidas Gazelle in the ‘Kaleidoscopic Lens’ colorway. Despite looking like the sneakers came straight off the set of the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, they were actually released in May 2023. After hitting shelves with a retail price of $140, online shoppers can find the kicks on any trusted resale website for under $200.

Designer Sean Wotherspoon collaborated with adidas to create a psychedelic interpretation of the Gazelle sneaker. The old-school tennis shoes feature an off-white textile upper covered with colorful illustrations inspired by 1970s art. The gum bottom outsole provides the foundation of the colorway, while the navy three stripes are the cherry on top.

The Trojans' defense remains questionable, but Williams has proven he is the best quarterback in the NCAA. It is only a matter of time before Williams takes his painted nails and fire sneakers to the NFL, so we will continue to soak in every bit of his legendary college career.
