One of the few missteps in NBA history was relocating the Seattle SuperSonics. It has been over 15 years since the passionate fans in KeyArena broke the volume on television sets across the country. And who can blame them when they had legends like Shawn Kemp and Gary Payton?

While we patiently wait for the league to right the wrong and put another team in Seattle, Reebok is providing an invaluable service to loyal SuperSonics fans. The brand is releasing one of its most iconic sneakers in two new colorways that pay tribute to the SuperSonics' rich history.

The “Seattle Alternate” colorway offers a bold take on Kemp’s second signature Reebok shoe, calling back to Seattle’s green and red alternate uniforms of the late 1990s. In a similar nostalgic fashion, “OG Inverse” flips the model’s original high-contrast black, white, and Seattle green color pallet, resulting in a fresh, contemporary design.

These two latest installments of Hurrikaze II build upon its legacy as one of the most compelling and eye-catching sneakers to ever hit the hardwood. Both colorways are scheduled to release on Friday, October 20. Online shoppers can purchase the sneakers for $130 on the Reebok website and at select retailers.

Seattle was once home to one of the most exciting NBA franchises in league history. With the help of Reebok, fans from the Pacific Northwest get to relive their glory days and look doing it. Stay locked into FanNationKicks.com for all your sneaker news.
