MJF is riding a wave of momentum ahead of his next AEW World Title defense.

The Devil and the Wrestling God signed their contract for AEW Dynasty Wednesday night in Winnepeg, and their war of words afterward nearly turned physical. Speedball Mike Bailey would end up stepping between them, which set the stage for the night's main event.

Much to the chagrin of Kenny Omega, MJF knocked off Speedball in an eliminator match and did so without any shenanigans what-so-ever.

It turns out the rumors were true this time around. Chris Jericho is back in AEW. He made his surprise return at the top of Dynamite, but it's still not clear what his goals are now that he's put those WWE rumors from over the winter to bed.

Will Ospreay was able to defeat PAC, but later paid the price for it. Jamie Hayter scored a major win over the Triangle of Madness in a six-woman tag team match, and a new high-stakes match-up has been booked for Dynasty.

Here's everything you may have missed from Wednesday night's edition of AEW Dynamite from the Canada Life Centre.

AEW Dynamite Results:

Tony Schiavone was in the ring to introduce AEW World Champion MJF and Kenny Omega for their scheduled AEW Dynasty contract signing, but the pyro on the stage started malfunctioning. All of a sudden, the sound of Judas came across the loudspeakers and Chris Jericho made his way to the ring.

The nine-time world champion had not been seen on AEW programming in nearly a year, and after soaking in the reception from the crowd, Jericho proclaimed that he was finally back home.

Will Ospreay attacked Jon Moxley backstage. Wheeler Yuta attempted to break up the brawl and got laid out for his trouble.

MJF and Kenny Omega finally made their way to the ring for their contract signing. They both put pen to paper before exchanging words with one another. MJF struck a nerve by bringing up Kenny's diverticulitis. Max said Omega's intestines are on a ticking clock, and at Dynasty he promised to beat him so bad that fans would think he'd be better off dead.

Kenny flipped the table over in a fit of rage, but Speedball Mike Bailey rushed down to the ring to get in between him and MJF. Bailey said there would be no AEW without Kenny Omega, and challenged MJF to a match. Omega then goaded the champion into accepting the challenge by saying he lost his balls.

Kenny Omega, Brody King and AEW National Champion Jack Perry defeated Ricochet, Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona in a trios match. This was an action-packed match, with all six men laying it on the line for the Canada crowd. Omega ultimately picked up the win for his team after he hit Ricochet with the One Winged Angel.

Willow Nightingale issued an TBS Championship open challenge for Thursday night's special edition of AEW Collision, saying she wanted to defend her title against the very best.

Renee Paquette caught up with Adam Copeland and Christian Cage as they arrived backstage. They were both carrying steel chairs and Renee asked what their plan was for the night. Cope said they were there to take out FTR and anyone else who got in their way. Christian then attempted to hit Renee with a chair, but Cope stopped him.

Back from a commercial break, Cope and Christian busted into FTR's locker room to find Roppongi Vice sitting on their couch. Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero said that Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler were not scheduled to be at the arena until Thursday night for Collision. Cope and Christian blasted them both with steel chairs and said to make sure FTR got that message.

Will Ospreay defeated PAC. The Bastard attacked Ospreay during his entrance and immediately went to work on his surgically repaired neck. AEW officials tried to stop Ospreay from fighting back multiple times, both before and after the bell, but he pulled out a gutsy win over PAC after he reversed a Brutalizer attempt into a pinning combination.

The Death Riders swarmed the ring post match and beat Ospreay down. Claudio Castagnoli wrapped a chair around his head, but Moxley called off the dogs. Mox grabbed a mic and said this was almost a very bad night for the Aerial Assassin. He left Ospreay with a warning not to make things personal.

Jamie Hayter, Alex Windsor and Mina Shirakawa defeated AEW Women's World Champion Thekla, Julia Hart and Skye Blue. Thekla once again tried to steal a match by using brass knuckles, but the Brawling Birds were able to put a stop to it by hitting the champ with Two Birds, One Stone. Jamie then dropped Julia Hart with a Hayterade to pick up the victory.

A pissed off Darby Allin hit the ring to call out MJF for a face-to-face confrontation, but The Don Callis Family answered his call instead. Don Callis said that they remain on the AEW World Champion's payroll, but he had some good news for Darby. If he can defeat Andrade at AEW Dynasty, then MJF will grant him a shot at the title. Callis then sent his boys down to the ring after Darby, but Brody King and Jack Perry came out to make the save.

AEW World Champion MJF defeated Speedball Mike Bailey. The Canadian crowd was firmly in the corner of their fellow countryman. Bailey put forth quite the effort to try and score the upset, but the AEW World Champion proved to be too much. As Kenny Omega watched from the commentary desk, Max hit Speedball with a piledriver on the ring apron, and then delivered a Heatseeker to pick up a clean victory. MJF tried to attack Bailey after the match, but Kenny chased him off.
