Street Fighter Actor Gives Honest Take on Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns Performances

What was the reaction to Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns' performances in the upcoming Street Fighter movie?

Both Rhodes and Reigns participated in filming in 2025, as Rhodes was reportedly written off WWE television last August during his feud with Drew McIntyre.

The current Undisputed WWE Champion will play Guile in the film, while "The Tribal Chief" plays the role of Akuma.

And it appears that the two WWE superstars garnered quite the buzz for bringing the most out of their characters.

David Dastmalchian, who plays M. Bison in Street Fighter, recently revealed his thoughts on Rhodes and Reigns in an interview with Soundsphere, teasing that both men will captivate audiences with their performances.

“You can definitely tell everybody that I said that Cody Rhodes’ performance as Guile is going to be one of the highlights of Street Fighter,” Dastmalchian said. “And when everyone sees what Roman Reigns did as well, they’re going to freak out. It’s a great film. It’s really exciting.”

The movie also features another professional wrestler, as NJPW's Hirooki Goti will play the role of sumo wrestler E. Honda.

While the attention will turn to the silver screen in the fall, Rhodes and Reigns will be the primary focus of WrestleMania 42 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on April 18 and April 19.

Rhodes will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton in what has become a personal rivalry between the former friends.

Orton viciously attacked Rhodes on the March 13 episode of SmackDown, turning to the "voices in his head" to try to capture his 15th World title in WWE.

Meanwhile, things have also escalated between Reigns and CM Punk ahead of their match for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Reigns had a lot to say to Punk after winning the 2026 Men's Royal Rumble, and Punk has since thrown a few verbal jabs at Reigns' family, which prompted some interesting exchanges with The Usos.

It was Reigns who snapped on Punk a few weeks ago on Raw, but Punk got the better of the leader of The Bloodline on this week's edition at Madison Square Garden by hitting a powerbomb on Reigns through the announce table.

The Orton vs. Rhodes and Reigns vs. Punk matches are expected to headline the WrestleMania 42 card,
