Kevin Wilson made history as the first black male graduate of Elon University in North Carolina, earning a B.A. in English/Journalism in 1981. He wrote for The Pendulum, earning awards in reporting and sportswriting. In 2003, he launched Sylvester Enterprises, named in honor of his grandfather who introduced him to baseball. As CEO and publicist, Wilson promotes clients in sports, media, and government with a mission to inspire youth and deter substance abuse and violence. He has spoken at schools, prisons, and conferences, including the 2014 International Conference on Broadcasting Media. That same year, he co-produced a film about a blind filmmaker and later served as producer for My Friend, My Hero and Grand Slam. His upcoming book is titled “The Turning Point.” He began contributing to High School On SI in 2025.
