DJ Gay hired as new La Jolla Country Day boys basketball coach

DJ Gay is the new boys basketball coach at La Jolla Country Day.

DJ Gay has been hired as the new boys basketball coach at La Jolla Country Day School, according to multiple sources.

Gay, who has been the head coach at Victory Christian Academy since 2017, replaces Ryan Meier who resigned as the Torreys head coach in March.

Gay played four seasons at San Diego State and three seasons internationally before he began coaching.

Meier led the Torreys to CIF Section Championships in 2012 and 2016 and won the Division III State Championship in 2019.
