The Algonac Muskrats defeated the Lansing Catholic Cougars 4-1 in the MHSAA Baseball Division 3 semifinals on Thursday at McLane Stadium.

Drew Burlingame hit an RBI single to right field to give Lansing Catholic a 1-0 lead.

Algonac answered with three runs with one swing of the bat. Josh Kasner hit a 3-run home for the Muskrats over the left field wall.

The Muskrats added another run in the fifth inning. Matthew Rix scored on a passed ball to put another run between the Muskrats and the Cougars.

Kasner also dominated on the mound. He pitched seven innings and allowed only five hits and one earned run while striking out seven and walking three batters.

Drew Tolfre pitched six innings for the Cougars. He finished with four earned runs and five strikeouts to zero walks.

Algonac will play the winner of Bridgman vs. Standish-Sterling in the MHSAA Baseball Division 3 championship game on June 17 at 11:30 a.m at McLane Stadium.
