Blair softball player Nessa McMillen was voted SBLive’s Nebraska High School Athlete of the Week for Oct. 9-15. 

McMillen totaled 13,515 votes. Creighton Prep cross country’s Dennis Chapman was second with 10,316 votes (39.29%). 

McMilen enjoyed a big Class B state tournament. She had four hits, six RBIs, three extra-base hits and five runs. The Blair senior went 2 for 2 with three runs, two runs driven in and had a home run against Duchesne/Roncalli, followed it up with a 1 for 3 effort, an RBI and a double against Hastings, then propelled the Bears to the title game in Omaha by going 1 for 3 with three RBIs, a home run and two runs in a shutout of Beatrice. 

Overall, she went 4 for 8 with six RBIs, two home runs and five runs in three games.
