Defense was the name of the game Thursday night at Solon, and the host Comets had a little more than Massillon Perry to advance in the state tournament.

Chyanne Hatcher scored a game-high 20 points and Morgan Blackford added 12 to lead Solon to a 48-38 win.

The No. 7-seeded Comets will face No. 3-seeded Stow at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Perry High School.
