Westerville South staved off foul trouble from star Drey Carter to beat rival Westerville North to advance to the district final.

Carter still scored 16 points to lead South (24-0) to a 65-52 win over North (17-8) on Wednesday to send the Wildcats to the district final at 8 p.m. Saturday against Dublin Jerome.

Jalen Wheeler added 12 points for South, and Caleb Iheukwu led North with 15 points.

South's two earlier-season wins over North were among their closest of the season, a 45-43 and a 74-65 overtime victory.
