High school girls basketball playoffs are well under way for teams in Classes A and B.

District play starts up for Classes 2A-4A this week before Classes 5A and 6A start regional play next week.

Here is a look at the rankings with things heating up in mid-February.

Note: Rankings and records are from games through Feb. 14.

1. Edmond North

The Lady Huskies will look to cap a perfect 23-0 regular season on Friday with a win against Edmond Santa Fe. This comes after defeating crosstown rival Edmond Memorial, 60-23, on Tuesday night.

2. Lincoln Christian

Lincoln Christian continues to move up the rankings, this week thanks to losses by teams in front of them. Since the Lady Bulldogs' lone loss to Sapulpa, Lincoln Christian has won 10 straight and won by double-digits each time.

3. Edmond Memorial

Edmond Memorial had won 15 straight before Tuesday’s 37-point loss to crosstown rival, Edmond North. Things don’t get any easier for the Lady Bulldogs, as they finish the regular season with a home game against Norman.

4. Sapulpa

Dropping a spot in this week’s rankings is Sapulpa after a somewhat surprising loss to Sand Springs. The Lady Chieftains stand at 18-2 on the year after bouncing back to beat Bixby by eight.

5. Putnam City West

The Lady Patriots had a stretch in mid-January where they had 17 days off, but PC West has finally gotten back in a rhythm. They had played Ponca City, Midwest City and Choctaw, and won those games by a combined 70 points.

In the past week, they have wins against Enid, PC North and Putnam City, with those three wins coming by a combined 80 points, improving to 18-3 on the year.

6. Bixby

As some teams do, the Lady Spartans went through a little bit of a lull, losing five of eight games in late December going into January. Since then, Bixby has won seven of its past eight games.

Bixby will have a test on Friday when they have a road trip to Tulsa Booker T. Washington.

7. Bethany

The Lady Bronchos remain one of the top title contenders in Class 4A. After suffering their first loss of the season to Tuttle in mid-January, the Lady Bronchos have responded by rolling over top 25 competition in Weatherford and Kingfisher.

Bethany most recently has wins against Anadarko, Elk City and Oklahoma Christian School, winning by a combined score of 223-113.

8. Norman

The Lady Tigers have improved to 16-4 on the year after an 84-58 win at Stillwater on Tuesday. Overall, Norman has won six straight following their loss to top-ranked Edmond North.

9. Midwest City

Midwest City drops a spot in this week’s rankings after a 13-point loss to Choctaw on Friday. That is now their second loss of the year.

The Lady Bombers will have a chance to get revenge for an earlier loss against Putnam City West in the final game of the regular season on Friday.

10. Tuttle

Tuttle is one of three Class 4A teams to crack the top 10 in this week’s poll in what is sure to be an exciting battle for the gold ball.

The Lady Tigers finished with a 21-2 regular season mark after hard-fought road wins against Weatherford and Amber-Pocasset, both top 25 contending teams.

11. Tulsa Booker T. Washington

One of the more surprising results from Tuesday night was a 48-46 Jenks win against BTW. The Lady Hornets have now lost three of six and finish the regular season on Friday with a home game against Bixby.

12. Dale

Showing up as the first Class 2A school this week is Dale. The Lady Pirates lost their first game of the year to Preston, but haven’t lost since and have finished the regular season at 24-1.

The Lady Pirates have won all but two of their games by double-digits this year.

13. Midwest City Carl Albert

The Lady Titans have lost three of their past seven games and four games overall. Three of those losses are against top 25 competition, and the four losses have come by 23 points.

Carl Albert got a narrow 53-51 win against Shawnee on Tuesday.

14. Bethel

The Lady Wildcats are the first Class 3A squad in this week’s top 25 poll. Their 20-3 record is marred with losses to Dale and Caddo, but they are also 6-0 against Class 4A competition and higher.

15. Tahlequah

Since losing their second game of the year three weeks ago to Carl Albert, Tahlequah has bounced back by winning their past five games by a combined 67 points.

16. Choctaw

It has been a strange week for the Lady Jackets, as they lost to a sub-par Ponca City team on Feb. 7, but rebounded with a win against No. 9 Midwest City on Friday.

Choctaw hosts PC North on Friday before beginning regional play next week.

17. Holland Hall

The Lady Dutch ended the regular season with an 11-point loss to Lincoln Christian, but that is nothing to hang their head about, especially after they had won 12 straight games.

Holland Hall has yet to win against a team that is ranked inside the top 25 and has only played two teams in the top 25, that being a four-point loss to Norman and the recent loss to Lincoln Christian.

18. Washington

After suffering their first loss of the year, the Lady Warriors have dropped a few spots in the polls this week. That was a two-point loss to Classen SAS on Tuesday night and the Lady Warriors still don’t have a notable win on their schedule.

With their regular season over, they will have to hope they can get some of those notable wins in the coming weeks when it matters most.

19. Amber-Pocasset

Amber-Pocasset had a busy week, going 3-1 in the process with the lone loss coming against No. 10 Tuttle. They are now 23-2 on the year with their other loss coming against Dale in November.

20. El Reno

Despite a recent loss to Kingfisher, the Lady Indians remain slotted in the top 20 after beating Carl Albert, 57-52, last Friday. A 56-34 win against Bishop McGuiness has improved El Reno’s record to 15-5 heading into playoffs starting next week.

21. Weatherford

Even with the five-point loss to Tuttle last week, Weatherford remains in the top 25 after knocking Kingfisher out of the rankings the previous week. Weatherford is now 19-4 on the year after a 67-40 win against Chickasha on Monday.

As district play at Clinton begins later this week, keep an eye on Jordan Hoffman, as she recently scored her 1,000th career point.

22. Seiling

Seiling is proving that they may very well be the team to beat in Class A, having won 14 straight. The Lady Wildcats’ lone loss of the year is a 13-point loss against Edmond North.

They recently faced a difficult Lomega team and won that game with ease, 69-41. They defeated their district opponent in Waukomis by 56 points.

23. Pittsburg

Pittsburg sits at 22-4 on the year, but all four losses came against teams in higher classifications. Two of those schools made an appearance in this week’s top 25.

The Lady Panthers have won their two district games by a combined score of 152-26. They begin regional play at Roff on Thursday.

24. South Coffeyville

One of those teams vying for that Class B gold ball is South Coffeyville, one of two remaining undefeated teams left in girls’ high school basketball. They have cruised through the competition, taking advantage of a sub-par schedule.

The Lady Lions begin regional play with a game against Kinta this Thursday in Checotah.

25. Merritt

Making a debut in this week’s top 25 is Merritt. With one loss on the year, they are one of a few teams who might be able to contend for a Class 2A crown.

They have played some great lower-level classification competition and came away with wins each time, as they have won 21 straight. They begin district play this Friday at Sayre.
