Gonzaga Prep beats University 46-33

QB Connor Halonen accumulated 270 rushing yards and scored 2 touchdowns to help Gonzaga Prep to a 46-33 win over University on Friday night at University High School.

The Bullpups also received impressive efforts from RB Zane Melzer who rushed 24 times for 116 yards and 1 touchdown and RB Eric Floyd who caught 2 passes for 62 yards and 1 touchdown.

University’s QB Gavin Wolcott threw for 112 yards and 1 touchdown, RB Isaac Matt picked up 100 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns and WR Kye Duplessis had 81 receiving yards.

The win helps Gonzaga Prep improve to 2-1 on the season while University falls to 2-1. Tonight’s game was the first matchup between the two teams.

Gonzaga Prep will challenge the Shadle Park Highlanders at home on Friday September 21 at 7:00pm. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season.

University travels to Spokane, WA to take on the Rogers Pirates on Thursday September 20 at 7:00pm. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season.
