Newport’s Cydni Lewis led all scorers with 11 points as the Grizzlies beat Chewelah 40-30 in a game at Newport.”

Lewis’ points came on 3 field goals and 5 of 7 free throws during the game.

Chewelah was led by Maggie Cobb’s 11 points and Krislyn Koler added 10. Chewelah fell to 0-1 overall while Newport improved their record to 1-0.

Chewelah’s next game is scheduled to be played at on Friday Dec. 16 at 6:54pm versus Newport. Newport will host Lakeside on Tuesday Jan. 26 at 5:45pm.
