Chewelah Cougars defeat Newport Grizzlies 49-42 in Washington high school basketball game

Chewelah’s Alyssa Fitzgerald led all scorers with 21 points as the Cougars beat Newport Grizzlies 49-42 in a game at Newport.

Fitzgerald’s points came on 6 field goals, 1 three pointer and 6 of 7 free throws during the game.

Julie Schoener added 9. while Chewelah improved their record to 2-2.

Newport’s next game is scheduled to be played at home on Saturday Dec. 8 at 5:30pm versus Chewelah. Chewelah will host Riverside on Tuesday Dec. 11 at 6:00pm.
