Mount Vernon’s Maliyah Johnson led all scorers with 16 points as the Bulldogs beat Monroe Bearcats 51-40 in a game at Monroe High School.

Johnson’s points came on 4 field goals, 1 three pointer and 5 of 8 free throws during the game.

Skyler Witham added 11. Monroe fell to 1-4 overall while Mount Vernon improved their record to 1-6.
