Hailey Van Lith, Cole Bajema named 1A Washington High School Basketball AP Players of the Year
The Associated Press has named Cashmere junior Hailey Van Lith and Lynden Christian senior Cole Bajema the 2019 1A Washington high school state basketball players of the year.
Van Lith, one of the top players in the country for the Class of 2020, averaged more than 32 points and 8 rebounds for Cashmere this past season. A 5-foot-9-inch left-handed point guard, Van Lith was named MVP of the 1A state tournament after leading the Bulldogs to a third-place finish.
Bajema, a 6-foot-7-inch wing who has signed with Michigan, led Lynden Christian to a fourth-place finish at the 1A state tournament. He was named the Washington 1A boys player of the year by the WIBCA for the second consecutive season.
