SportsBusiness Journal Report Has Astros Close To Patch Sponsor Deal

The Houston Astros could soon announce a team sponsorship from Occidental Petroleum.

The Houston Astros are close to announcing team sponsor Occidental Petroleum as their patch sponsor, according to sources cited by Terry Lefton of SportsBusiness Journal.

Lefton noted that the company moved its headquarters from Los Angeles to Houston in 2014.

Major League Baseball has asked teams to work patch deals for at least three years, according to the report.
