Dodgers News: Chris Taylor Provides Insight on When Clayton Kershaw Could Make Free Agent Decision

CT3 offers a few nuggets on his famous teammate...

Will Clayton Kershaw return as a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2024?

This is the million-dollar question on everybody's mind — not just the mind of fans and the media, but also many of Kershaw's recent teammates.

One of those teammates is Chris Taylor -- a guy who's been battling alongside Kershaw during postseason play on numerous occasions. Few players on this current roster likely know Kershaw as well as Taylor considering CT3 is one of the longest-tenured members of the ballclub.

Taylor recently spoke with Doug McKain of dodgersnation.com, and the utility man touched on several interesting topics ahead of the upcoming season.

Of course, McKain had to ask Taylor about Kershaw and his current status as a free agent. Offering a rather transparent and honest answer, Taylor delved into the topic as best as he could:

"We all hope to have Kersh back. He’s in a little different scenario this offseason. I don’t think he’s quite in a rush to make his decision. I think he’s enjoying this offseason. He had surgery, so he’s not available to pitch until the end of the year. So I wouldn’t be surprised if he made his decision even as the season was going on. But of course, I think everybody wants him in Dodger Blue come October."

Taylor didn't necessarily offer anything overly new, except potentially for the point that Kershaw could be methodical in his return to the field — and when he signs with a team.

There's still a mysterious nature to this entire situation, though. Teammates hope Kershaw comes back to the Dodgers (even if the hometown Texas Rangers are lurking).

Regardless, should Kershaw reenter the fold, he'll be a major addition to this team both from an on-field and off-field standpoint.
