You know things are going well for James Outman when he's getting comparisons like this. On Monday at Camelback Ranch, Outman was among a group of hitters who faced reliever Daniel Hudson who is ramping up from season ending knee surgery last year.

After his outing, Hudson shined some praise on James "Babe Ruth" Outman.

"Second time facing hitters in eight months and I’ve got to face Babe Ruth over here."

Outman has been on a tear all around Dodgers spring training this month. When he's not taking his teammates deep in batting practice -- he also hit home runs off Evan Phillips and Caleb Ferguson -- he's terrorizing Cactus League pitching. The rookie outfielder is hitting .391 in 11 games with a pair of home runs and 4 total extra base hits. Outman is in a precarious spot with the team roster wise.

He's playing more than well enough to earn a spot on the opening day roster but the team may end up sending him back down to Triple-A to start the season, taking advantage of the fact that he still has minor league options.

James Outman is doing everything he can to make his name with the team this spring -- including getting compared to Babe Ruth by a World Series champion pitcher.
