Dodgers Dealing With Illness 2 Days Before Korea Trip

This isn't the best time for this news.

The Dodgers take off for South Korea this Thursday. According to Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times, multiple members of the team came down with an illness and were sent home — Gavin Lux, Max Muncy, and assistant pitching coach Connor McGuiness.

As of right now, nothing has been reported regarding the nature of the illness. It is unclear if Muncy or Lux will play on Wednesday against the Seattle Mariners.

This is likely just precautionary. The team will embark on a roughly 13-hour plane flight, and they do not want more people getting sick.

While it's unfortunate that anyone got sick, it's especially unfortunate that Muncy and Lux fell ill. With the recent spotlight placed on the infield defense, it would benefit both of these players to get as many reps together as possible.

The Dodgers kick off the 2024 season with a two-game series against the San Diego Padres on March 20 and 21. Tyler Glasnow will start the first game and Yoshinobu Yamamoto will make his MLB debut in the second game.
