Shohei Ohtani Rumors: Insider Predicts Dodgers Sign Two-Way Star This Offseason

Ohtani in Dodger Blue sounds good to me!

As the Dodgers get ready for the postseason in a few days, they are determined to finish this year with another World Series title. But the organization is also thinking about how they want to play in the offseason, as well.

They are well aware that two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani will be a free agent, and it’s no secret that LA has been gearing up to make an aggressive run at him for years. Many in the industry believe that he will end up with the Dodgers, and it makes all the sense in the world.

LA has a pretty good chance of landing Ohtani, considering that they are a consistent winner, and they can pay him the kind of financial compensation that he wants. Erik Beaston of Bleacher Report put together some MLB free agent predictions and has Ohtani landing in Los Angeles this winter.

“As would the fact that, as it currently stands, the Dodgers are a better run organization equipped to go on a World Series run. If they can do so this postseason and win the pennant in the National League, it may be nearly impossible to persuade the player, desperate to win, to go anywhere else. Prediction: Ohtani joins the Dodgers, stays in MVP form, and returns to quality pitching in 2025.”

Per Erik Beaston of Bleacher Report

If the team lands Ohtani, it would be a massive get for LA. His bat alone for the 2024 season would be a big boost to this team, and then he could get back on track to his two-way abilities after that. He is the biggest show in the sport, and he deserves to be on the biggest stage consistently.

"That the organization is on the West coast, an area where Ohtani has spent his entire big league career and is closer to his home in Japan, would certainly weigh on his decision."

Per Erik Beaston of Bleacher Report

Ohtani's free agency will be unlike anything that we have seen in baseball history. It will be followed extremely closely, and everyone will be on pins and needles until he signs with a team.
