Shane Bieber left Comerica Park on Tuesday night frustrated with his performance as the Cleveland Guardians dropped the first game of their three-game set with the Chicago White Sox.

Cleveland's starting pitcher gave up five earned runs and was bounced in the fifth inning. However, it wasn't all bad leading up to that. Bieber didn't give up a run through the first four innings and had a good command of his fastball.

He also passed up a Cleveland legend in his start as well. Bieber struck out four White Sox hitters in his start, passing Bartolo Colon on the organization's all-time strikeout leaders list.

Colon pitched for the then-Cleveland Indians for six seasons from 1997-2001. In that time he struck out 873 batters. Bieber is also in his sixth season pitching for Cleveland as he has now struck out 874.

This puts Shane at 15 on the record list.

However, there is some speculation on how many more batters Bieber will have to strike out in a Guardians uniform. The right-handed starter is under contract through 2024 and could be a valuable trade piece at the deadline.

The Guardians also have a number of incredible young pitchers making their way into the Big Leagues.

Bieber passing Colon should just make us appreciate that talent Cleveland currently has on their roster because who knows how long he'll be here.
