Don't look now, but Gabriel Arias is starting to turn

Arias started at first for the Cleveland Guardians as they took on the Oakland Athletics as Josh Bell got that day off. Cleveland has played every day since Thursday, which is uncommon for the first two series, so the night off was warranted.

Even with Bell not in the lineup, the Guardians didn't lack any pop as Arias crushed his first home run of the season.

This shouldn't come as a surprise for fans who followed the team during Spring Training. Arias slashed .341/.383/.409 in the Cactus League and that momentum has carried over to the start of the regular season.

The more at-bats that Arias gets will be better off for his development and for the team. Arias showed what he could do in the 2022 playoffs when he was getting consistent plate appearances and hitting .273 in three games.

Arias has proven that he can be a reliable defender anywhere in the infield whether that be at third base, shortstop, or even first. So this shouldn't be the reason he does get playing time.

Find him a spot in the field and let's see some more of these homers!
