2024 Guardians Spring Training Players Of The Game: Game 14

Cleveland's José Ramírez, Bo Naylor, Tanner Bibee, and Franco Aleman each had a strong performance in the team's 2-1 win over the Chicago White Sox.

The Cleveland Guardians earned their fourth 2024 Cactus League win with a 2-1 victory over the Chicago White Sox yesterday afternoon.

With 90 players representing the Guardians during spring training (40-man roster, 22 non-roster invitees, and 28 depth camp players), each game’s roster will vary.

Based on Cleveland’s roster for yesterday’s game and their performances in the contest, here are four Players of the Game.

José Ramírez, 3B

The Guardians’ starting third baseman hit a home run for the second time in his last three games.

With one out in the bottom of the fourth inning, Ramírez hit a solo home run to extend Cleveland’s lead to 2-0. This gave the 31-year-old his second home run and fourth RBI of the spring.

Bo Naylor, C

In just his third game of the spring, the Guardians’ starting catcher put Cleveland on the board first in the bottom of the second inning.

With one out in the half-inning, the 23-year-old hit an RBI single, recording his first hit and RBI of the spring.

Tanner Bibee, RHP

The 2023 AL Rookie of the Year runner-up pitched extremely well in his second start of the spring.

Bibee pitched three scoreless, hitless innings, and nearly faced the minimum of nine batters. A pair of walks were his only blemishes of the day, as he only faced 10 batters and earned his first win of the spring.

Franco Aleman, RHP

The 23-year-old had a near-perfect relief appearance in the top of the ninth inning, and was one pitch away from an immaculate inning.

After striking out the first two batters he faced, Aleman surrendered a hit-by-pitch. However, he struck out the final hitter of the game, earning his first save of the spring.
