In this story:

Last season, the Los Angeles Lakers shocked the world in trading for young superstar Luka Doncic in a late-night deal with Dallas.

The transaction sent shockwaves through the league, not only causing a seismic shift in the West, but effectively resetting the Lakers' timeline with Doncic now rostered. Now, the goal for Los Angeles is to build a contender around him.
