Thus far, 2023 NBA Draft prospects have had a rough go in the NCAA Tournament.

To this point, most have been eliminated, with just a few truly special performances sprinkled throughout the early rounds. On Friday, Alabama’s Brandon Miller and Houston’s Jarace Walker were both eliminated following inefficient offensive outings.

But one such prospect who has impressed has been Uconn’s Jordan Hawkins, who has the fourth-seeded Huskies in great position to make a run at the NCAA Championship.

A 6-foot-5 sharpshooter, Hawkins has drastically raised his draft stock over the course of this season. He’s been lauded as one of, if not the best, shooters in the entire class. And has shown real improvement as a shot creator and overall basketball player. And he’s done more of the same in the NCAA Tournament.

In three games so far, Hawkins is scoring 16.3 points, grabbing 2.0 rebounds and dishing out 1.3 assists. His most notable performance came against Arkansas, scoring 24 points on 6-for-13 shooting overall.

So far, Hawkins has raised his overall efficiency, his efficiency from beyond the arc and hasn’t missed a single free throw in three games. His defense has been good enough to help propel the Huskies to three big wins.

On the season, Hawkins is now averaging 16.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists while shooting 40 percent overall and 38 percent on 7.6 3-pointers per game.

To this point, all signs are pointing towards Hawkins being selected in the first round of the 2023 NBA Draft.
