The proverbial dust has settled on Jim Harbaugh joining the Los Angeles Chargers after a nine season stint with the Michigan Wolverines. His final year with the team resulted in a national title, and the hope is he can use that same fire to get the Bolts their first-ever Super Bowl win.

Harbaugh comes in with a treasure trove of coaching experience and the right type of mindset that should easily transform the dissapointing Chargers into the AFC powerhouse they once were. Harbaugh is currently dealing with preparation for the NFL Draft, but he has had a few months to take in his new coaching home. When speaking to reporters about his time in LA he simply stated, "Best damn job I have ever had.”

It should be plenty exciting and heartwarming for Chargers fans that Harbaugh is this passionate about his new job. He did coach the 49ers, and took them to the Super Bowl.

The Chargers have been waiting years for a coach of this caliber, and they have not had a great one since the years of Norv Turner. Harbaugh wants to transform this team into a tough and physical no-nonsense team, and he has been busy adding the right kind of coaching staff to do so.

Former Michigan defensive coordinator Jesse Minter followed Harbaugh over, and he is joined by fellow Wolverine coaches like strength and conditioning coach Ben Herbert.

Harbaugh is likely excited to see what he can do with the lowly Chargers, who went 5-12 in the 2023 season. Harbaugh has turned around every team he has ever taken over, and there is more than enough talent for the Bolts to be a dark horse playoff candidate.

It also doesn't hurt to know Harbaugh has referred to this job as the best one he has ever had.
