Every team deals with injuries throughout a season. It's just apart of sports. But for the Los Angeles Chargers, sometimes it seems as if the injury bug infests the team more consistently than others.

After another injured riddled season, the team decided to make a move at the top. They parted with long time head athletic trainer Damon Mitchell shortly after their season ended. He had been with the organization for 24 years and was the head trainer for six.

They announced recently that they were hiring Sal Lopez, formerly of the Tennessee Titans to take over the same role that Mitchell had previously held. Lopez had spent the last five seasons with the Titans and now heads to Los Angeles to change the tune of things.

The team hopes that even small changes like this could help turn their fortune around. Sometimes changing different health strategies can be the missing piece to the puzzle and that's what Los Angeles is banking on.

If this Chargers team can stay healthy then the sky is the limit for them. They have an explosive offense, led by star quarterback Justin Herbert and a defense that has the ability to get after the opposing teams quarterback and cause havoc.

They are entering a make or break type of season due to the expectations surround the franchise. Herbert will soon be getting a new contract and the team will then have to make more financial decisions going forward. 2023 is crucial for the growth of this team and hopefully they get a good bill of health.
