Chargers News: New Mock Draft Has Bolts Landing New OL

CBS Sports has the Bolts drafting this elite offensive tackle from the Pac-12.

The 2024 NFL draft is slowly approaching. Although free agency is the talk of the town, the draft will soon be at the center of the football world. This draft is loaded with talent in all position groups, and the Los Angeles Chargers will select one of these transcending players.

According to CBS Sports' Chris Trapasso, the Bolts will lean towards an elite offensive tackle, but not the one you're thinking of. In his latest mock draft, Trapasso has the Bolts selecting Oregon State offensive tackle Taliese Fuaga.

According to Rivals.com, Fuaga looks like a near-lock to be a first-round selection, specifically in the middle of the first round. A top-five pick for Fuaga is a huge jump for the 21-year-old.

The 6-foot-6, 334-pound tackle hails from Tacoma, Washington. He earned First-Team All-American and First-Team All-Pac-12 in 2023.

Fuaga's best ability is his run-game dominance. His ability to control the line of scrimmage in the run game is exceptional. He uses his size and strength to the best of his ability to overpower defenders. That ability alone makes him a great fit with Jim Harbaugh and Greg Roman's play style.

The 21-year-old looks like a good fit on paper. The good thing is there are a ton of great offensive tackles that will be great fits. It all depends on who the front office prefers if they decide to go with someone in the trenches.
