George Moore
Oregon Ducks

One-Liner:

Rotational left tackle with good size who possesses poor strength and athleticism as well as technique.

Pros:

Good-sized left tackle who will meet measurement thresholds at the position. Moore maintains low pads with good knee bend in his pass sets. He is best when he gets to be passive and reactive as a pass blocker. In the run game he finishes by rolling on low-gap shooters.

Cons:

Rotating in and out of the lineup, Moore has seen a decline in play from 2020 to 2021. His feet are slow in pass sets, causing him to open his hip as rushers beat him to the apex. From there he is unable to recover. Moore cannot block inside moves when he gets his punch beat, resulting in him getting his face crossed. He gets knocked back on initial impact due to poor core strength and driven into the quarterback. Moore is also susceptible to getting pulled. Below average leg drive prevents him from getting a push in the run game. Quick ends give him trouble as he whiffs at the point of attack. When working blocking angles, he is unable to seal lanes at the line of scrimmage and takes poor angles causing him to hold at the second level. His initial blow is poor, lacking power with his hands and out of his hips. Moore has indecisive hands. His punch is often too high.

Summary:

Rotational left tackle with good size and poor athleticism. Moore lacks core strength, agility and leg drive. His hands are indecisive and he takes poor angles. Moore projects as a minicamp invite due to his size, who has too many holes in his game and a lack of athletic traits to prevail at any offensive line position in the NFL.

Background:

George Moore helped lead Deer Valley High School to a 2013 CIF North Coast Section semifinal appearance as a junior. He led the way for a Deer Valley offense that put up 42.1 points per game and averaged 386.3 yards per game. He then attended College of San Mateo for two seasons. He was ranked the best junior college offensive tackle and a four-star prospect by 247Sports. He was also tabbed as the Ninth ranked junior college player by 247Sports. He landed as the 41st ranked player in the ESPN JC50 and as the sixth ranked offensive tackle. He was selected first-team All-California Community College Region I as a freshman in 2016 and also named first-team All-Bay 6 League. Moore helped lead a San Mateo offense that averaged 32.4 points per game, 408.8 total yards per game and 192.8 rushing yards per contest. He chose Oregon over Arizona State, Auburn, California, Fresno State, Hawaii, Memphis, Missouri, Nevada, Oregon State, Purdue, San Diego State, Syracuse, TCU, Utah, Utah State and Washington State.

Once getting to Oregon, he did not see any game action in 2017 before appearing in five games in 2018. He also played four games in 2019 sparingly before starting all seven games in the pandemic shortened 2020. Moore split between left tackle and right tackle for the Ducks and one of the most successful offensive lines in the country. In 2021 he played in all 13 games for the Ducks.
