Steelers Move Two Rookies Into Starting Lineup

The Pittsburgh Steelers first two draft picks are now starters.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are making two changes to their depth chart, adding two rookies to their starting lineup ahead of Week 10 when they face the Green Bay Packers.

After both started in Week 9 against the Tennessee Titans, making both of their second career starts, the Steelers are promoting cornerback Joey Porter Jr. and offensive tackle Broderick Jones to the starting lineup. Porter replaces Levi Wallace at the right cornerback spot, and Jones is listed as a co-starter at right tackle with Chuks Okorafor.

Head coach Mike Tomlin acknowledged last week that Porter would be the starter moving forward after continuing to impress in limited action.

Jones, however, was a surprise start in Week 9. After choosing to bench Okorafor because of what the veteran claimed was something he said after the loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the first-round pick was shifted from the left to right side and given the starting job.

It's unknown if Jones will be the starter moving forward or if the Steelers will work with both players throughout the week and decide on a starter by game day.
