Several Steelers Fined By NFL

The Pittsburgh Steelers were hit with multiple fines by the NFL.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers were handed multiple fines this week by the NFL for players' conduct during Week 7. Against the Los Angeles Rams, the league fined four players. 

Wide receiver George Pickens was hit twice last week, once for an unsportsman like conduct penalty and the other for unnecessary roughness. He was fined $8,525 for each one. 

Diontae Johnson was also flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct, coming from a taunting penalty against former teammate Ahkello Witherspoon. He was fined $10,927. Pickens' penalty was also taunting. 

Safety Damontae Kazee was called for unnecessary roughness during the second quarter against the Rams, and the NFL decided to fine him $11,806. 

It was the first time all three players were fined in 2023. 

Running back Jaylen Warren got hit with another excessive fine, his second of the season. He was penalized for a hit in the second quarter, but just like last time, he was not flagged for the play during the game. 

He was fined $48,556, which was the cost of his previous fine as well. Both were because of lowering his helmet on a block. 

Warren's agent, David Canter, says they will be appealing the fine just like they did the last one.

As an undrafted player, Warren's penalties exceed his game checks, so last time, he joked that he'd be playing for the "love of the game" for a week.
