Saints Sign Steelers LB Target

The Pittsburgh Steelers lost out on a linebacker to the Saints.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers will have to look elsewhere for help at linebacker, after one of the dwindling number of free agents was taken off the table.

Former Washington Commander Khaleke Hudson - also a native of McKeesport, Pennsylvania - has spurned the Steelers after taking a visit to see them earlier this week and instead signed with the New Orleans Saints, according to a report from Aaron Wilson of KPRC-2 TV.

Hudson, a former fifth-round pick out of Michigan by the Commanders in 2020, has appeared in 58 games over four seasons with Washington. In 2023, he played in all 17 games and started eight, accounting for 74 total tackles - 5 for a loss - and one sack. He played a career-high in defensive snaps while also maintaining his role as a crucial special teamer.

The Steelers made a splash, signing former Ravens star Patrick Queen to a three-year deal earlier this offseason. The addition of Queen headlines a room that will have Cole Holcomb and Elandon Roberts back in the fold this season.
