Seahawks Analyst Slams Steelers QB Russell Wilson

The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback doesn't have many fans in Seattle radio.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have a new quarterback in Russell Wilson, and the fans, the players and the coaches all seem thrilled about a Super Bowl-winning veteran taking over. But those who cover his old team aren't the biggest fans of the nine-time Pro Bowler, and one radio host didn't hold back when asked about him.

During an interview with Tribune Review's Tim Benz, Ian Furness of KJR Radio and Fox-13 in Seattle made sure his opinion was heard.

"Some of the stuff you see now that seems kind of corny and canned, the rah-rah stuff with Russ, was more authentic back then. The dude competed; he was a gamer. And honestly, they don’t win a Super Bowl without him,” Furness said. “A lot of things started to change when (he got married to Ciara) and he became a, ‘Look at me guy.’ He became a problem inside the facility, with the front office, and with the staff, and it just snowballed from there until they traded him."

Furness said he originally liked Wilson when he was drafted to the Seahawks but he noticed how much he changed once he was in the spotlight and married Ciara. According to Furness, he became fake.

The Steelers want the leadership out of Wilson this season, and they're hoping he becomes a genuine leader in their locker room. Although his time in Seattle didn't end pleasantly, and there was plenty of noise after his departure, those in Denver seemed to have enjoyed playing with him.

According to league sources, Wilson was beloved by teammates on the Broncos.

Hopefully, that holds true for the Steelers as well.
