UConn Basketball Coach Slams Steelers

UConn's men's basketball coach had a dig for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are moving into the 2024 season with Russell Wilson and Justin Fields competing for their starting quarterback job. Wilson will hold "pole position" heading into the summer, but the team isn't ruling out Fields as their Week 1 guy.

Not everyone believes in the process, though. During an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, UConn men's basketball coach Dan Hurley had some fun at the Steeler's expense. Although he's a New Jersey native, Hurley is a long-time Cincinnati Bengals fan and tossed a friendly dig at Pittsburgh about their quarterback situation.

"For you with the Steelers helmet, If you have two or three QBs you don’t have one," Hurley said toward co-host Tone Diggs.

Diggs replied with "I'll keep my mouth shut" as the rest of the crew let out a loud "ohhh."

The Steelers won't head into the season without declaring a starter, but general manager Omar Khan did let it slip that there may be some "cool" packages for both quarterbacks. So, maybe Hurley has a point about not having one - even if the Steelers believe it's going to work out.
