Sunderland return to Championship action this weekend as they host Reading at the Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats go into the game just two points short of the play-off positions and looking for back-to-back home League wins.

They will have a striker too, which is a bit of luxury these days, with Joe Gelhardt set to return after missing the FA Cup replay against Fulham.

How to watch Sunderland vs Reading in the UK

As ever, it is a lot harder to watch your team play if you are in the UK than if you are anywhere else. That is something the EFL really need to look at.

The game will be streamed live of SAFC Live, although you will need a streaming pass and a VPN to access it.

RoyalsTV is another option but the same restrictions apply and you'll need a log-in - and your money will go to Reading instead of Sunderland.

Because the game hasn't been selected by an EFL broadcast partner in the US there are no blackout restrictions on the Sunderland game.

If you're interested, the international broadcasters have picked the relegation six-pointer between Wigan and Huddersfield, and it is that the game that will be live on ESPN+.

International viewers can therefore watch the game as usual via SAFC Live.
