'Toxic and self-entitled' - Did Michael Beale slag off Sunderland fans with secret Twitter account?
Michael Beale appears to have described Sunderland supporters as ‘toxic’ through a now-deleted secret X (formerly Twitter) account.
The extraordinary discovery was made by the What The Falk Podcast, who discovered a Twitter account linked to Beale’s former business Player ID.
Tweets were uncovered confirming Beale was the man who started the business in 2017, as well as some defending his time at Sunderland – including the strange incident at Birmingham when the head coach appeared to blank full-back Trai Hume.
Most controversially, though, was the fact the account that is alleged to be Beale retweeted a post from a Coventry City fans, describing the Sunderland fanbase as ‘toxic’ and ‘self-entitled’ whilst criticising the club for their failure to ‘back’ him.
The post in question read: “If SAFC sack Beale who in their right mind would want that job?
“Owners that won’t back a manager in the transfer market and a toxic fanbase who will boo the f**k out of him and want him gone as soon as they lose 2 games. The self-entitlement is on another level up there.”
While the retweet can’t be definitively attributed to Beale, both his own personal account and the Player ID account were deleted immediately after the discovery, adding serious weight to the allegation.
There can also be no doubt that the Player ID company is Beale’s, as proven by historic tweets and posts on other social media.
