The Alabama women's basketball team lost its first road game in over a month on Sunday afternoon, 60-45 at Mississippi State..

The Crimson Tide could never find a rhythm offensively and was unable to string enough runs together to get the win in Starkville.

Coming into the game, Alabama had won its previous six road games, and in all of them the Crimson Tide was able to score more than 60 points.

This time the Alabama offense ground to a halt after the first quarter, shooting just 29 percent from the field and 28 percent from 3-point range. Nothing was clicking and the Bulldog defense kept Alabama uncomfortable.

Brittany Davis lead the Crimson Tide with 14 points, but Aaliyah Nye was the only other Alabama player with more than six points. In comparison, during Thursday's win over Vanderbilt, Alabama had five players score more than 10 points in that victory.

Mississippi State was lead by Jerkail Jordan, who scored 24 points while also grabbing six rebounds and four steals. Ahlana Smith also scored 15 points for the Bulldogs to help lead their charge.

Alabama sits at 20-7 and 9-5 in the SEC, still good for fourth in the conference. But the loss means that there is no separation between Alabama and Ole Miss. The only thing keeping Alabama over the Rebels is a head-to-head win for the Crimson Tide.

While Sunday was rough for Alabama, there are still three games left in the regular season with a lot still on the line.
