University of Alabama senior running back Najee Harris has been named to the 2020 Doak Walker Award Watch List, the SMU Athletic Forum announced on Wednesday.

Harris joins 75 other running backs from around the country, who were named to the preseason list that recognizes the best tailback in college football. Only two former Crimson Tide players have won the award, Derrick Henry in 2015 and Trent Richardson in 2011.

Last season, the Antioch, Calif. native rushed for 1,224 yards on 209 carries and 13 touchdowns. He also caught 27 passes for 304 yards and an additional seven scores. He is regarded as one of the top running back prospects for the 2021 NFL Draft.

He currently ranks 15th all-time in Alabama history with 2,377 rushing yards, and will have a shot to become the school's leading rusher at the end of the 2020 campaign, if he can record 1,214 more yards on the ground.

The winner of the 2020 Doak Walker Award will be announced on ESPN's Home Depot College Football Award Show on Dec. 10.
