Running back Najee Harris has no regrets about returning to Alabama

Alabama senior running back Najee Harris put an end to any speculation that he had second thoughts about returning to the Crimson Tide for his senior season.
“Nah, man, when I make a decision, I stand firm on it. I don’t have no regrets on it," Harris said during a Zoom teleconference with reporters on Friday afternoon. "I want to come back with my team and just grind it out through another year.
"We didn’t know what was gonna happen now but now I feel like we have a really good team. No matter what, I’m so happy that I came back. I don’t regret nothing.”
Over three seasons, Harris has tallied 2,377 including a team-high 1,224 last year (on 209 carries, averaging 5.9 per attempt).
With the SEC one of three power conferences going ahead with the 2020 season, Alabama is set to open fall camp on Monday, and play its first game on Sept. 26.
Harris, who hopes to improve his draft stock, added that he hasn't thought about opting out for the season due to safety concerns.
“No, not once, I haven’t thought about opting out," he said. "But now, there are concerns for me as if, like, we start camp in a minute and I’m not trying to go into camp really knowing that we might not have a season or not. It’s just so many uncertainties that it is what it is.
"That’s something to work with. I have to deal with. That was really the only concern I have. Opting out has never crossed my mind. It’s only going into fall camp knowing that we might not play. That’s on a lot of people on the team’s concerns, too, going into fall camp not knowing if we’re playing or not. But opting out has never came to mind.”
