Alabama Football's Tyler Steen Drafted 65th By Philadelphia

In this story:
The train keeps on rolling for the Alabama Crimson Tide in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Another Crimson Tide player is off the board as offensive tackle Tyler Steen was drafted 65th overall by the Philadelphia Eagles in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Steen began his career at Vanderbilt, starting 33 consecutive games for the Commodores from 2018-2021. The Miami, Fla. native then joined Alabama for one season in 2022-23, starting all 13 games at left tackle for the Crimson Tide.
Steen was named to the All-SEC second team by the coaches — totaling 25 knockdown blocks over the course of the season.
He is the 4th Alabama player taken in this year's draft, joining Bryce Young (Panthers), Will Anderson Jr. (Texans), Jahmyr Gibbs (Lions), and Brian Branch (Lions).
Here's a look at Steen as a prospect, courtesy of analyst Lance Zierlein of NFL.com.
"Steen began his career as a defensive tackle at Vanderbilt and ended it as a starting left tackle at Alabama. He’s a vertical pass-setter who plays with good awareness to twists and blitzes. Steen uses length and hand resets to extend his mirroring. He would benefit from better catch-and-clamp hands to limit secondary rush opportunities. He plays with hustle off the snap to find back-side positioning on zone blocks, but he needs to eliminate his forward lean in space to improve timing and adjustments at the second level. Steen has good size with average athleticism and is still fine-tuning technique. He could compete for a role as a swing backup early on but could find starting snaps in time."
There are sure to be more Crimson Tide players on the move this weekend, as the 2023 NFL Draft continues in Kansas City, Mo.
