Report: Former Crimson Tide Cornerback to Miss Rest of 2023 Season

In this story:
The Dallas Cowboys received unfortunate news on Thursday as All-Pro cornerback Trevon Diggs is expected to miss the rest of the 2023 season.
The former Alabama Crimson Tide standout reportedly tore his ACL during practice.
According to several NFL reporters, Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network initially, Diggs suffered the injury while in one-on-one period as the Cowboys were preparing for a Week 3 road game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Diggs is two months removed from signing a five-year $97 million contract extension after he snagged 17 interceptions over his first three seasons. It's also the second most in Cowboys history over any three-year period.
The 24-year-old has already made the Pro Bowl twice and was named All Pro in 2021 when he led the league with 11 pickoffs, the most by any NFL player since Everson Walls in 1981.
An MRI already confirmed Trevon Diggs' injury, per source. He's done for the season. https://t.co/PQ7mS4a9hV

ACL injuries often require six months of recovery, essentially ending the defensive back's 2023 season before it really got off the ground.
With the defense leading the way, the Cowboys are 2-0 with blowout victories over the New York Giants and New York Jets, collectively allowing just 10 points through the season's first two weeks.
Diggs had been credited with six tackles and three pass break-ups, an interception and a forced fumble. The Cowboys were ranked No. 1 in the league in defensive yards allowed and points allowed per game.
Dallas will turn to DaRon Bland, or former first-round pick out of Auburn, Noah Igbinoghene, to fill in for Diggs but regardless, it's a major blow to the Dallas defense.
