Alabama Baseball Moves Up in D1Baseball Rankings

The Alabama baseball team jumped in this week's D1Baseball Rankings.

The Alabama Crimson Tide baseball team moved up three spots to No. 13 in this week's D1Baseball Rankings.

Last week, the Crimson Tide went 3-1, winning its midweek contest against Belmont and taking the series against South Carolina, the only loss being 9-8 in the series finale on Saturday afternoon.

Alabama has moved up six times in seven weeks, the only fall coming in week six, when the team dropped from No. 11 to No. 16 after getting swept by the Georgia Bulldogs. So far this season, the team has ranked as low as No. 19 to start the year and as high as No. 11.

Teams that dropped out include the Kansas State Wildcats (18-8) and Oklahoma Sooners (15-12).

In the other polls, the Crimson Tide ranks No. 11 in Baseball America, No. 14 in the Coaches Poll and NCBWA, and No. 15 in Perfect Game.

The Crimson Tide will start a four-game road trip this week, traveling to Samford for its midweek contest on Tuesday, then will head to Lexington, Ky., for a three-game series against the No. 17 Kentucky Wildcats before returning to The Joe on April 9 for a midweek game against South Alabama.
