The Crimson Tide lost 5-star receiver Perry Thompson to the Auburn Tigers last Saturday, Alabama wasted no time replacing Thompson as Nick Saban and company secured a dual-sport athlete out of Chattanooga on Saturday.

Amari Jefferson, a 4-star receiver out of Baylor High School announced his intention to play for Alabama on On3's YouTube page.

"Really my first visit. I came off my first visit and told my dad I wanted to commit on the spot and he told me I had to wait," said Jefferson on when he knew Alabama would be home.

Jefferson had been previously committed to Tennessee to play baseball and still hopes to play both sports in college. He chose Alabama over Tennessee and Georgia.

The 6-foot receiver hauled in 72 receptions for 1370 yards and 17 TDs as a junior while helping the Red Raiders win a state championship.

He made several visits to Tuscaloosa, including participating in the Champions Cookout this past weekend where he met with the new Alabama baseball staff for the first time. Jefferson was primarily recruited by Alabama's Holmon Wiggins and Joe Cox.

His commitment vaults Alabama back into the top ten recruiting rankings for the current cycle with 15 total commitments. Jefferson and Rico Scott are now the receiving pair for the 2024 class.
