The Alabama Crimson Tide football program is making an addition to its support staff as the transition from Nick Saban to Kalen DeBoer continues.

According to 247Sports the Crimson Tide is hiring Eron Hodges to serve as its new associate director of player personnel.

Hodges spent his most recent two seasons with the TCU Horned Frogs, working as a defensive analyst and serving as the program's director of recruiting. He was also director of recruiting for Louisville in 2021 and recruiting coordinator at Texas Tech in 2020.

The Kent State alum began his college coaching career with the Golden Flashes as a graduate assistant in 2013 and '14. He's worked as assistant director of player personnel at Ohio State and at Purdue.

Hodges will work hand-in-hand with new Alabama general manager Courtney Morgan on roster management and recruiting as well as interpersonal player development.

He was instrumental in helping Purdue land its highest recruiting class in 247Sports history with the No. 26 overall class in 2019 as well as TCU's best class in 247Sports history with the No. 28 overall class in 2022.

Hodges has experience in strength and conditioning as well as coaching linebackers outside of his recruiting expertise. In addition to his football experience he spent 2012 at Notre Dame serving as the Olympic sports strength and conditioning coach.

His hire comes at a timely moment as the Crimson Tide is beginning to make headway on the Class of 2025. Alabama currently has two commitments in the upcoming class but lost six other commitments after the coaching change.
