New Alabama head football coach Kalen DeBoer is settling into his new role in Tuscaloosa after just two month on the job. The Crimson Tide is in its second week of spring practice and energy around the program is building under the new regime.

The positive energy has overflown to the recruiting trail as DeBoer secures his fourth commitment in the month of March on Wednesday.

4-star linebacker Darrell "Duke" Johnson out of Dodge County High School in Eastman, Ga. announced his commitment to Alabama on the 247Sports YouTube Chanel on Wednesday.

"Me and Alabama just had a good vibe, a good coaching staff. I like the coaching staff. Me and Coach Hitch we knocked it off pretty good, me and Coach Kane, the defensive coordinator we've got a good bond, we talk everyday and it's the best fit for me," said Johnson.

Johnson is listed at 6-foot-1, 200-pounds and is considered the No. 3 linebacker, the No. 7 player in the state of Georgia and the No. 28 overall player in the Class of 2025 by the 247Sports Composite.

He chose Alabama over Florida State, Texas A&M, UCF and Southern California.

"I just want to come in and make a big impact as a freshman and get to know the scheme and the playbook and just get ready to play," said Johnson after his commitment.

He's played quarterback, running back and defensive back for Dodge County, totaling 103 tackles as junior last season.

Alabama now has six total commitments in the Class of 2025 and has the No. 10 class in the cycle. Johnson makes the second linebacker in the class and the fourth defensive player.
